PhD - Payroll History Database...
PhD, the Payroll History Database, has been designed specifically for users
of the Cyborg payroll system. It is an interrogation facility that
stores and reports upon all your historical Cyborg payslip data,
providing easy and efficient access to view and print individual
payslips, produce date range reports and interrogate HED's.
It
could also be used to generate payment and deduction reports such
as pension, union or savings , over a span of several years if necessary.
The scope is only limited to the amount of history you want to hold.
Users
are able to view a summary of each employees available payslip history
and can view or print each individual payslip. Also, users are able
to interrogate the database down to HED, Date Range, Control 1-2,
Employee and Amount range level. These precise parameters allow
you to quickly retrieve the information you are looking for.
There
is a built in search facility which allows you to search for employees
by name or number and has smart search capability, which narrows
the data down as you type.
The
admin function of PhD
can delete data that is over 6 years old, which is the legal limit
for data retention, and can also reunite separated history records
where employees have transferred across Control 1-2's.
As
with any payroll data, security is paramount. PhD
is password controlled on entry and the administration function
is further secured by an additional password. On the SQL version
users can also be restricted to viewing data by Control 1-2.
There
are 2 versions available, PhD Standard
which is an Access .mdb application, and PhD SQL,
which is designed for SQL Server. Both offer similar functionality
but use different interfaces and update processes.
The SQL version uses Data Transformation Services (DTS) to schedule
automatic data loads whereas the Standard version uses a manual
import facility.
We recommend PhD
SQL for databases
of more than 500,000 records.
We
will initially convert all your existing data into the database and
thereafter we will configure a periodic update process for
your environment. Once in place, it will
provide a manageable process to update your database on a regular cycle such as daily,
weekly, monthly or
quarterly.
The PhD package comprises several
extract routines, conversion scripts and the
Access Project/Database Utility.
The cost is scaled according to the number of actual
history records to be converted and includes the software installation,
bulk data conversion, configuration of update process and first
year maintenance. Ongoing maintenance is charged annually thereafter
and is calculated as 20% of the initial purchase price including
any initial or subsequent customisation.
The following table can be used
as a guideline to the cost, but all cases will be treated and costed
individually:
